Is AS an All in One Editing System?

Don't hate me for the total newbie question that follows...

Is Assimilate Scratch an all in one editing / coloring application? Or is it just used primarily for coloring?

I mean, if I learn AS, will it negate my need for other NLE systems such as Avid, FCP or PP?

Scratch is not designed to replace any NLE system. Its role is to optimize the workflow by adding a strong data management foundation, a multi-layer conform (from EDL, ALE, AAF, FCP XML), primary and secondary (with unlimited layers) grading and multiple parallel outputs, all within the same open architecture, which means you can create your own scripts and make it a real hub in a facility.
