On the question of which extension class is best to take, that's a tricky one, since they both will have significant value - after 3 days of production and post if you want more deep dive on post processes for many levels of the business and some very serious touch time on RedCineX Pro, then the post class is for you. If you want more hands on camera work emulating real studio production on EPIC and Scarlet and them moving that specific project through a quick turn post process and getting a cut onto the big screen, then that's the way to go.

On Steve's audio comment - we agree, for the past couple classes we've brought an audio specialist in to talk and show double system sound options, and Michael does cover the RCX syncing process in his post class. For Andrew - we'd love to have you whenever we can make the long journey over work!

Signed up for the full week including the Post Processing track with Michael. Looking forward to learning how to make some lean budget "home brew"!

Hey Ted, I would like to bring my own Epic/EF kit and perhaps be paired with other one-man-shooters with the appropriate instructor for a lean operation. Is that possible? Maybe like some others, I have no goal to produce a feature film, TV series or use real expensive post products.

Hi Josh, we can certainly connect you in a group that is interested in one man operation, and the best TA that has a lot of experience with that style of work. On bringing your own gear, I think we try and avoid that to keep all the camera packages without any concern for personal property during the class, but Brian can confirm that.

Thanks Ted, would love to use an Epic with Canon lens since it is a slightly different beast and would love to see the AF in action - I have no problem looking after me own stuff. I'll keep it simple - maybe 2 lenses. I have all the RED bits for the body.

Josh, I understand people wanting to use their own system as it is what they are used to.
However what I think Ted is getting at is that there is a LOT of gear at these events, and most (RED branded) is identical and gets easily confused with one another. If something goes missing or gets damaged during the course they cannot be held liable for it, so best to leave at home I would say.

Im sure there will be canon mounts available as part of the course inventory, everyone invariably gets a chance to play with everything at some point.

    Thanks Brian . . . what, wait . . .

Funny how there seems to be the need on this site to reword, explain or read into what RED staff members have clearly stated or what they might mean by the word "is". It's just funny

    Josh,

Thanks for the offer and we may take you up on brining your own gear depending on the size of the class. We have a limit of six attendees per camera package and right now are all set for the February class size of 45. As Andrew stated we have learned it is best to use RED gear and the gear of our TAs to manage inventory.
