Just want to give a huge shout out to all the instructors and RED Team members that worked so hard to make the February REDucation event a huge success! Thank you for all your efforts...very much appreciated...had the time of my life, made a ton of new friends and learned so much!
Thanks so much to everyone for all of the kind words. It was another great week. I had so much fun not only teaching all things RED, but learning from all of you as well. This is a very special program, and it is an honor to be a part of it.
Also, thanks to the group that shot "Opera"... it was an absolute pleasure working with you and I can't wait to see our finished project. We really pulled off a nice short in just a few hours!

Casey Green is my hero. If (when) I end up being a crazy old cat lady I plan on naming 3 tabbies after him. ;)
I had the best time being a part of this class. I'm so proud of what everyone accomplished and I can't wait to see all of the shorts from Shoot/Post/Present!
Big Thank You to Ted, Michael Cioni, Brian and the entire reducation team for a fabulous week of learning. Thank you Tonaci for patiently leading our group through the exercises.
I look forward to staying connected with all the fellow redusers who were a part of reducation 2012. It's an investment with truly lasting values much like Red itself. Highly
recommended to anyone who is considering it.
Casey - when you say "can't wait to see our finished project" - does that mean that someone is going to FINISH the edit? Christine in all her spare time??? :)
I also wanted to thank Christine and Siobhan for their help - those girls ROCK. I think we all felt really fortunate to have them with us on this project!
What IS reducationX
Where is the NYC Reduction (or at least nearby hotel locations)?
Also are there still slots available?
Also- should I bring my camera, or would there be an issue with that?
Looks like an amazing set of classes for a very low price.
JD - we are still finalizing a spot in NYC, we will have it by mid next week. There are still slots available and you do not need to bring your own camera but you are certainly welcome to!
Brian
Brian,
Is the New York course going to be using the same set up (i.e. HP workstations + Rocket)? Is it possible to also have a workflow for the "very little guy" without a Rocket? This would give us a chance to see what Premier's Mercury Playback Engine can do with a NVIDIA Quadro-type graphics card... perhaps being able to mess around with debayer quality and playback resolution to see what a viable non-Rocket workflow is (I know it's not ideal, but may be needed in certain situations where one doesn't have access to a Rocket). Any chance of something like this in addition to the regular HP w/ Rocket set up?
Really excited! Traveling for 16 hours all the way from Pakistan to attend the NYC class! See you all there!
