I am planning to buy a set of Zeiss ZF lenses for a Scarlet because I prefer the manual aperture ring, I have been recommended the leitax adapters, anyone here using Zeiss ZFs on Scarlet/Epic? what adapters have worked for you?? Thanks!

@ carlos i have a cheap china adapter 20euros....the main thing is it has to be stiff once you put it on do not change lens it will gain a little play and then the lens will be not firmly attached....buy one for each lens and do not remove it
cheers
i own a 50mm and it works perfect my fav on my scarlet!
Thanks for the info Paolo I am currently using a similar adapter on my nikkor AIS 50mm just making sure this kind of adapter would work on the scarlet. Loving the look of the Zeiss ZFs on your scarlet btw
To also vouch, I have a set of Zeiss ZE for the Canon EF mount and they work wonders on the scarlet. Between being able to adjust the aperature in camera and the sharpness of the glass..well worth it!
i do have the 21- 2.8, 35 - 2, 50 - 1.4, 85 - 1.4, 100 - 2 all ZE and the set is working fine i didn't face any problem with 4k.
I've been shooting on the 18mm 35mm 1.4 50 makro 85mm and 100 makro and one issue to note is that in high contrast shots look out for purple chromatic abberation. You'll need to close the iris to at least f4 or more to get ride of it.
Can I assume if these lenses work on the Scarlet that they will also work on the Epic? Also Waleed just curious for close face shots like focusing on an eye or someones lip would you use the 100? Or will the 85 focus close enough I am trying to decide which of the two would give me most versatility. Thanks.

Hi Tom, Do you also have a Canon body as well? I was thinking of getting one as a "B" camera with the same set of lenses for both. I have always had a hard time matching the footage although I never used the same lens on both. I was wondering if you have ever compared frame grabs pulled from the Red with those of the Canon. To me the DSLR stills look sharper even at the same resolution.
