For a new EVF I would expect a bit more RES.

I thought, cool, a nice EVF, but OMG I saw a picture of it, it's a friggin LCD for a smartphone with a housing strapped on!
They should be able to source a microdisplay by now. It's like every 2nd high end P&S cam has one inside these days.
I'll try a Sony HMZ-T1 for my 3d rig, if it starts selling here. That's *two* microdisplays for 3d. Under a grand.

It's basically like the annoying bulky flip-up loupefinder thing on the Sony EX3... no thanks.

So far what I saw the best TV Logic EVF is actually TVLogic VFM-056WP with a hood.

With that size 5.6" LCD you get resolution 1280x 800,

    HDMI 480i/480p/720p/1080i/1080p & VESA/IBM Modes,

    SDI Input Signal Formats:

    SMPTE-425M-A/B 1080p(60/59.94/50/30/29.97/25/24/23.98/30sF/29.97sF/25sF/24sF/23.98sF), 1080i (60/59.94/50)
    SMPTE-274M 1080i (60/59.94/50) 1080p (30/29.97/25/24/24sF/23.98/23.98sF)
    SMPTE-296M 720p (60/59.94/50)
    SMPTE-260M 1035i (60/59.94)
    SMPTE-125M 480i (59.94)
    ITU-R BT.656 576i (50)

With HDMI loop-out, Waveform/Vector, Y Level, Range Error, and 3G input.

    Weight : 0.28 kg / 0.617 lb

Nothing can beat this LCD/EVF with those features and image quality on the market.

    Pretty impressive specs!!!

Sony EX3 uses a 640x360 display. This one is 960x640.

It is also highly unlikely that EX3 display has 500cd/㎡ brightness & 1000:1 contrast as stated for this one.

Anyone have any insight as to the physical dimensions of it? The rear looks a bit ugly with that EVF-035W, but nothing a company sticker wouldn't disguise!!!

I think a HD-SDI EVF that can attach to the Epic whilst using the touchscreen for menu control and not needing the upcoming IO module is a pretty neat solution actually. TVLogic has a good reputation for their monitors. Whilst it's not the perfect solution (I'd like to see a smaller screen and therefore a smaller form factor) I do think it's better than most of the other similar products due to the larger pixel ratio. I'd be interested to see a comparison of the Bomb and this to see if there is an improvement or loss of quality in the image. I can't help feel that a larger screen might improve the colour reproduction and lessen any horrid refresh rates and other issues the smaller screens are effected with.

Look forward to hearing your impression compared to the Bomb and original Red EVF Mitch. If no one else appreciates it, I certainly will!
