I've seen these issues discussed before but can't find them.

What are the "rules" and policies on using the various RED logos on our websites?

Also in regards to photos, are we allowed at all to to the pictures RED has in their store for example? I would assume no, but curious.

    Also, what about font?

Basic questions it seems, but many probably aren't aware what they can and can't do.

Would rather ask than get a spanking from Jarred later.

RED logo font is ITC Machine. It ("RED") is trademarked, so be careful what you slap it onto. The font isn't restricted so to speak, but just use common sense here and you'll be alright. I think for RED's use, they are tweaking the font a bit or have a specific formula for scale, leading and kerning.

RED has made the "shot on RED" as well as the "shot on EPIC" versions of their logo available for us to use in credit rolls and other promotional materials. Beyond that, all their website imagery, images the RED team posts here to the forums, etc.. are all copyrighted materials and not for our re-use without permission.

If in doubt you should run your design proposal by the right people at RED. It will save you and their lawyers time in the future.

So what about my epic with wheels?

It maybe should say where and where not to put those overpriced / oversized stickers... if thats and issue.

With the legions of RED users growing every day, these questions are bound to keep coming up.

I would recommend a Sticky that lists the rules - which would include the link that Nick just referenced.

I would also suggest that information regarding use of RED Reels be included.
I remember one producer that embedded a RED Reel in their website implying that it was their own work. The resulting discussion thread was ugly.
The thread was deleted (for good cause), but there was some good guidance included within that was lost.

With the increasing number of films and projects being released that were shot on RED, more and more owners and producers will want to use the logo and related material to promote or credit their tools and products.
No one wants to have an innocent use reprimanded - a Sticky will be a central point to get answers.

    Bjorn,

This would make me nervous. Would hate to see that a thief becomes aware of the contents by displaying the logo - turning your car into a target.
Might I suggest switching to magnetic signs so you could select when you display the logo?

Evidently the rules are not being enforced:
