I scored a decent deal on eBay for a cage and a rod riser. I've already got his DSLR rig which is of fantastic quality, so if the Scarlet stuff is more or less the same quality, I got a steal.

I'll post pictures when my Scarlet and my cage arrives.

Interesting, I hadn't heard of 360Precision. Looks like very cool stuff, thanks for that.

Dmitry, wow am I confused. That cage was that cheap, and it arrived? No dodgeyness/scam?

I'm looking at this and don't know what to make of it, because there is nothing that comes even close to as cheap as this http://camera777.com/dslr-rig/41-pro...ed-scalet.html

I do not know what to make of this.

I'm pretty sure it's not a scam. Others have gotten the same product here, they're just not vocal about it.

And the reason why it's so cheap? They're a 'cloning' business. Almost no time spent in R&D, labour is cheap, and there's almost no overhead to deal with since they're just found online. The only difference between this product and others, is that it's a Korean guy pressing the button on the CNC mill, and not an American or a German. They're made to the exact same tolerances and use the same billet aluminum. Not sure about their anodizing though.

    @ Jospeh

GiniRigs are a Korean manufacturer well know within DLSR circles with a solid track record. They have now branched out into creating rigs for Epic/ Scarlet. Whilst I don't own a cage, I do own some rail components & a FF. The build is exceptional, comparable to Zacuto or Berkey, the pricing structure is also exceptional, in a good way. If you jump on US Ebay & look under Red Scarlet or Epic you will see what I mean. I have seen the cage Dimtry has, go for $199. A word about their pricing policy, its all over the place, some items are listed as Buy it Now for $1200, whilst the same item will have a no reserve price @ $199 go figure.

    Currently GiniRigs has this

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/CAMERA-Suppo...#ht_500wt_1185

a whole rig including cage, handles, follow focus & shoulder Pad for $499 no reserve . They also have one at 99 cents with no reserve!@$# , no way will it go for that but if your on a tight budget worth considering. In terms of payment & postage I have never had a problem....they are solid.

My standard rig ... my back is killing me today though ... so not shooting anything. Would love in my next project to have something a bit smaller, lmao ... it will probably be more monsterous though.

I really like shooting down though ... not a lot of rigs allow shooting down and up.

    Hey Patrick

Nice setup ...I see what you mean by a sore back.....do you have assistants helping you ?

I was reflecting back on the "old days" on getting similar shots with Elemac "Spiders", jibs & hot heads & three grips & 2 trucks and long set up times. Its amazing how far gear has come........a lot more sore backs then.
