My O-Grips and O-Box arrived. Lovely kit.
Heading to Berkey System tomorrow to start designing something akin to the 15mm LWS solutions from VF / RED / x / Element Technica.
Planning to include a shoulder mount similar to the RED dovetail shoulder pad, but with a mount off the back for my Switronix V-Type battery mount plate to counterbalance the rig.
I'll post photos / links when it's done.
Berkey makes some great stuff. Hopefully they'll get on the RED train. The more options/designs we have to choose from, the better.
how much it gonna cost ? i am curious to know? any clue?
The 1030DS is growing on me.
Hi Guys,
Here is the deal on the O-Focus. There are two versions:
O-Focus DM Photo Set (this has the new Photo Hard Stop Handwheel)
O-Focus DM Cine Set (this has a CFF-1 Cine Handwheel)
The O-Focus bridge has a 1:0.75 (rounded) internal ratio. So one rotation of input gives you approximately 3/4 of a rotation of output.
The Photo Hard-stop Handwheel has no internal transmission, i.e. it's 1:1.
The Cine Handwheel’s internal transmission is 1:1.8
Multiplying the ratios out, you get:
Cine Handwheel on O-Focus DM is approx. 1:1.4 (this is well suited for cine lenses and is a ratio close to that of the CFF-1.)
Photo Handwheel on O-Focus DM is approx. 1:0.75 (this is well suited for shorter throw still lenses and expands the focus scale allowing for a longer more accurate focus pull.)
So what we have done is created a follow focus that can be optimized for still or cine lenses simply by changing the handwheel. Some customers have been buying the photo set for example and then adding a second cine handwheel to work with either type of lens. You could even have a photo handwheel on one side and a cine on the other (since it is a double sided unit.)
Here is a photo of two hard-stop handwheels on the O-Focus:
Please let me know if there are further questions on this thanks....
