3D LEFT and 3D RIGHT in LCD/EVF Menu

Can anyone shed some light on what these options do? Can't seem to figure it out on Scarlets w/ build 2.0.5.

I don't have my camera in front of me right now, but I believe all that really does is move the display of the mag number and timecode from the edges of the bottom of the frame into the center, so when looking at a muxed S3D signal the information doesn't overlay and become very difficult to read.

Makes sense, but, I'm not seeing that on my Scarlets. Time code stays in same place with either 3D LEFT or 3D RIGHT option selected. Menus disappear, however.
