thanks very much I was waiting all day for this.
Brilliant. Thanks for the info!
Thank you for the update, however, I must say that I'm slightly disappointed. After ordering a Scarlet with a Ti Canon Mount on November 3rd, it was expected that they would begin shipping on December 1st. That date came and went and it was then announced a few weeks later that RED would be out of backorder on the Ti Canon Mount by mid-January. Now, that's been pushed to January 31st.
I trust RED completely, and I'm extremely thankful for these backorder updates. But, if RED would have said when we placed our orders to not expect anything for three months, that would have been fine. I just don't think they should have stated that they expect the cameras to have begun shipping on December 1st as that appears to have been a gross miscalculation.
I'm quite familiar with how RED works. I've been reading the forums for more than three years. I understand that sometimes you order something, and you may not receive it for a year (or longer). But, all I ask is to simply be kept up to date regularly. RED's customer service, in my opinion, the best of any company that I've ever dealt with. The people who work at RED are incredible (and extremely friendly, too), and I love the company. I just really wish that they wouldn't get people's hopes up by providing a date, but then being unable to deliver months after that date.
I've made a lot of friends at RED, so I'm not trying to criticize their company. All I'm saying is that, I understand you say that you predict you'll be out of backorder on the Ti Canon Mount by January 31st. What I'm asking is, is that a realistic date, or will it still be another month or two or three before the Scarlets with the Ti Canon Mounts ship?
Thank you. :-)
understand the disappointment.. can't fault you on that. In all honesty.. the only answer I have for you is that shit happens. Things go sideways. tooling comes out janky, one part out of 100 goes into shortage or gets caught in customs and everything stops. we rely on some random parts from all over the world still.. and sometimes they have crazy week or two week holidays where it is illegal to work. So instead of a date slipping a day because of something dumb.. it can slip a couple weeks.
Most companies don't do this.. they wait for everything to be in stock and then start shipping. But even big companies.. like apple.. sometimes can't keep up... like an iPhone that is announced shipping a certain date ends up taking 2 months to get.
We are getting better... I do these updates to keep you guys up to speed on those changes. These are estimates.. not hard dates. Just our best guess if everything goes as planned. Trust me.. its not fun being on this side to tell you the bad news. But thank god there is a lot of good news happening now that offsets that pain.
Hang in there man... we really are digging ourselves out of this hole.
Dual battery module! :)
