I like Hextall as a name. Few things arouse such passion in people as artistic endeavours like filmmaking or sports fandom. Combining the two seems logical.
My brother, father and I are all big Toronto Blue Jays fans so our digital cinema cameras are going to be named after the team's best home grown starting pitchers. I'd define that as starting pitchers who were drafted and developed by the team and went on to have either tremendous success for a few seasons or really strong performances for a long time. First comes "Stieb" (for Dave Stieb who was one of the best pitchers of the 1980s), followed by "Key" (for Jimmy Key who had an incredible 1987 season and a number of other really good ones) and then "Hentgen" (for 1996 Cy Young Award winner Pat Hentgen who was a great from 1993-1997 and then fought injuries afterwards) and "Halladay" (for Roy "Doc" Halladay, the greatest pitcher in club history). Maybe Ricky Romero will be good enough for long enough to be our fifth digital cinema camera down the road.
