Is R3D trim capable of adding handles?

I can not seem to get handles on the trimmed R3D, I import an EDL and the export all clips in timeline. using default handles or specified handles I never get any handles.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Hi Ido,

It is capable. Are you doing a timeline separate clips export? I just tried and didn't run into any issues. Can you provide more detail?

    Thanks,
    David

    Hi David,

It is always EDL's from Avid that I am getting. They conform nicely. Then I just export R3D trim of all clips in the timeline. I have tried with default handels or with specified handles, no luck for me.

    Any other detail?

    Thanks.

    Hi David,

I can not seem to R3D trim with handles, I am probably doing something wrong, but what?

In the export options I set handles to 10, I do an export of the timeline to separate folders.

I am using the latest RCX pro but tried different versions.

The EDL is a CMX 3600 one from AVID, the files reconnect fine but no handles on the trimmed media.

    Thanks.

    Hi Ido,

It's hard to say .. I'm unable to recreate the issue. What type of export are you doing? Timeline (Separate Clips)?

    Thanks,
    David

I have been trying all kinds of exports timeline separate, bin, selected in bin.

Nothing seems to give me handles in the trim media.

I looked in preferences, is there something I need to enable?

Mean while I use Scratch to add handles to the EDL, Is trimming in the SDK?

If so can you help assimilate to implement it please.

    Thanks.

I'm having problems with this as well. I've sent a simple test sequence from Premiere saved as an XML to RedCineX15. The 4kHD timeline in RC is good and when I export Trimmed R3D and ask for 24 frame handles, I get trimmed R3Ds with no handles. I've tried different settings and selections and nothing I do seems to give me handles.

    Any ideas?

OK, I'm getting handles if I select the individual clips in the timeline. But if I export the entire timeline without selecting clips it doesn't. I would think it should work either way.

I did the same thing and got handles. Then in the trim settings selected "Generate FCP XML" and link to R3D's. After the trims are generated not sure where the FCP XML that will link to the new files ends up.? Thought it would land in the output folder with the new media. If I try exporting a new FCP XML of the timeline post trim and bring into Resolve, it does not see the clips as discreet. Where do I find the new XML?
