I have a scarlet without a LCD or side handle but will it record without a side handle and LCD?
I borrowed an LCD and set it to output everything properly and record option I left the camera at home but just curious will it work?
I will output the signal to an HDSDI monitor without the ability to press enter, or select from the menu, but will it record?

Anyone willing to try for me?

it will record, but only at the stock settings. you won't be able to alter any menu settings, or enter the menu at all to do any maintenance like black shading etc. but yes, you can pop in a ssd, throw on another type of on board lcd and monitor via hdsdi or hdmi and record all you want at whatever the factor default is.

Thanks for that info Tom. In all the times I've seen this question and subject come up, I've never seen it stated the camera's could be run in that limited mode, everyone says they can do nothing at all until they get a sidehandle or touch LCD (or Bomb EVF), and so I've just assumed that to be the case. But if the factory defaults happen to be left in the right configuration, some limited testing and playing around could be done. Live and learn eh?
