Hello everyone... My Scarlet arrived yesterday (serial #00077). So far the camera seems fantastic. I love shooting at iso320 since there is not a single spec of noise in the image... it is so crystal clear! The LCD touch interface seems a little screwy at time though having trouble recognizing certain selections when touched with the finger (is that normal?). But I haven't got my side handle shipped yet so I imagine using the scroll wheel in it will work better. Can't wait for it to arrive - I'm dying to take this beast out and about!

I managed to upload my first test shot to Vimeo even though the compression doesn't do the image justice. I also uploaded the r3d file as well for those who wish to play with it. The shot was filmed at iso320, 4k, using the Canon EF 16-35mm 2.8 lens.

Very interesting! I actually kind of like it! It's both functional as a test clip and entertaining. =)

    EDIT:
By the way, is your Scarlet's name Cyndi? I ask so I can add it to the List of Scarlet Names.

As with any touch screen, I would assume that there's a calibration feature. I don't know because I don't have any RED equipment yet.

Know the feeling, Paul! It's so frustrating being tethered all the time.
Congratulations on getting your Scarlet, your footage looks great. What kind of slider or dolly did you use?

Thanks Andrew... I used an Indislider for this shot, it's a great little slider - had to focus pull and slide the camera at the same time, haha.
