Congratulations on getting your Scarlet, your footage looks great. What kind of slider or dolly did you use?

Thanks Andrew... I used an Indislider for this shot, it's a great little slider - had to focus pull and slide the camera at the same time, haha.

Thanks Phil... now you have an idea what the Canon 16-35mm looks like - although the image is sharper when properly focused (I'm a lousy focus puller, ha). Also, I really like the bokeh of the lens as well :)

Cheers. Pulling focus with still lenses requires a lot of patience.

That 16-35mm f/2.8L is oddly one zoom I don't own yet from Canon. But that will probably change. The front filter size confuses me madly. Don't know why they did that on the new design.

I tried it out with this shot - it is good at finding focus at first but the 'touch track' seems to have trouble updating focus when camera begins to move. But that's cool, I've always preferred manual focus myself. I have yet to try the 'continuous' focus, perhaps that will work better.

The continuous focus would be my favorite. Imagine pressing the record button halfway while shooting, in order to get focus, let's say, in the middle of the screen (like shooting stills with a DSLR). You could then follow the talent, even handheld, and get unseen results with a small run and gun rig. That's my dream.

Anyway, I dig your style, Paul ! Please, shoot more stuff ! :-)
