Has anyone figured out a solution to mounting the Switronix V-Type Mount Plate to the back of the Scarlet? Didn't realize this thing didn't mount to the back of the camera till after I got it. I'd rather not engineer my own solution, but I will if I have to. Part number GP-S-EPIC10.

Would the x mounting plate also work for the redrock cheeseplate?

Just an update to my thread, I checked out x's Quickback and plate and it looked very nice, and I was about to order it till I realized they were backordered. I did some more research and discovered CinemaOxide also made mounting plates. They've just started rolling out their new mount specifically for the Switronix V-mount plate. It's not listed on their site yet. They sent some pics and it looks awesome. Nice quality aircraft grade aluminum and weighs about 4 ounces. It's a less expensive simpler alternative, especially for someone like me, who really just wanted some way to mount the Switronix plate to the back of the camera. I should be getting it in a couple days and will post another update.

Edit: Plate actually weighs 6.5 ounces now.

Just looked up the plate on CinemaOxide they have the plate posted now on their website. http://www.cinemaoxide.com/brick-back-plate.php . Looks like they improved on the design and it now works with Switronix, IDX, and the RED plate. Best of all the price. At $174 I believe this may be the most affordable option to mounting our V-mounts to the camera.

This looks great and clearly is the most budget friendly plate to mount your Swit. I also like the additional mounting points on the top.

The only thing you are losing with this vs. the WC quickback is the ability to pop off the plate in case you want to mount the Redmote. With this, you would need to keep your torx handy.

And no, the redrock gear won't work with the quickback.

Yeah and in certain circumstances WC recommends you bolt down the Quickback with screws for heavier loads, so if your doing that than your not losing a whole lot when it comes to ease of popping off the plate anyway? Batteries are heavy, it may not be a good idea to put too much strain on that portion of the cam without the screws. Fortunately for me I don't have a Redmote hahaha........but I wish I did :(.

Both of these products are great and to some degree they are serving different purposes. If you need the battery pack to be removable, then the WC quickback is great for that. If you are looking to use the bricks regularly or all the time, then the CinemaOxide Brick Back plate is an excellent option.

The plate looks rather tall on the back of the camera, so I'm wondering if it would interfere with top handles. But I suppose this goes for all battery plate mounted directly to the camera.
