I remember that it was planned that Epic will carry a motion sensor/accelerometer.
If this is still true, it would be great if a electronic bubble could be integrated in the monitor/EVF via a user key.

Alexa has this feature since V4.0 and i really love it, and Clients who know it, do request it.

    thanks

Does Alexa have an accelerometer that shows the components of acceleration or an inclinometer that shows how the camera body is tilted?

We haven't hard anything about this for a long time. I've never seen a post from anyone officially declaring that it was integrated into the camera. There was speculation at one point that the accelerometer plus gps could provide primitive motion data. I'd love to hear that the hardware made it into the final design, and firmware will unlock the features in the future.

from what I remember there were big plans for the accelerometer data to be integrated in the metadata for 3d work etc. etc. but that was ages ago... I'm pretty confident the accelerometer was integrated in the hardware but it's potential hasn't been tapped in in the software.

I believe the hardware is there but needs a software update. Lots of cool stuff coming! It will just take time as the list of priorities is quite long. Don't be discouraged. What red has pulled off with he the epic is quite extraordinary and as it matures there will be many new features we havn't even realized the need for but when they hit will rock tbe boat plenty. I didn't know that 4.01 alexas have it. Kudos to them and I will have to check it out.

This would be really useful for stablization in post. alot more accurate than the computer trying to work out the movement of the camera. Saves time and money

Iīm not sure if itīs in in the standard alexa, but it is in the Alexa Plus, and itīs really handy to turn it on. You get a bubble in the EVF which is a great help on a bungee rig or handheld.
Hope this will make it into Epic as well, sometimes itīs the little things, that do excite people :)
