As many of you know, I have great interest in Natural History filmmaking, I believe is good idea to open a niche here on Reduser to concentrate our interest on this little topic. A good starting point for us, who are looking for crew all over the world for our projects, is a directory. It is very important to know who is out there and what are our skills, experience and availability. So, I think this basic directory of professionals involved in wildlife filmmaking around the world will give us a networking tool and easy access to camera operators, field sound engineers, crane operators, etc., etc. So, guys if you are interested to put your name here, just PM me your basic info and I will update the directory as often I can. I hope it will work, thanks.
NOTE: This directory is open to anyone who is interested in wildlife and outdoors filmmaking with any level of skills and is not required to be a Red camera owner. Also I started a Natural History Cinematography thread if you like to learn some tips and experiences from other wildlife and outdoors filmmakers. Enjoy: Natural History Cinematography

Great idea Christian! I've always been envious of natural history filmmakers because I really wish i had the skill to do it. I would imagine that capturing rare wildlife images must be an amazing experience. This is also a great list to have for future projects that may have a need for this kind of imagery.

Steve, in general capturing images of wildlife, plants, landscapes or nature in general is an amazing experience. Other times can be a traumatic one. I have a couple of colleagues who have died doing this work and a few others that were very close to cross the line, including me after a mountain lion attack.

I agree with you. This list can be a great source for anyone who is looking for 4WD crews for filming in the wild. Although I think there are not many of us on this forum… we will see if the list grows.

    Christian,

Thank you for starting this Natural History index! Great idea and super reference guide for the trade!
Karen and I are just back from field work as I received the call for my Epic.
Biologist by education, Naturalist by definition, Explorer by trade, and as a profession, I am a writer,photographer-cinematographer, and publisher-producer. I guess since I have a degree in Natural History as well, maybe I should ask to be accepted into the club, please.
I watched your Bobcat work, very nice!
I am shy to show you what we just shot. Please forgive Karen and I as our studio was shut down after a fire in the summer and will not be up and running until March. So this was lap top edited clip, and off the grid. It is very low rez.

    Best,
