Love it! Reminds me of a quick test I did a couple of years back on the Red One with original sensor. Talk about testing low light! ;-)

No, jimhare, i'd say your test was a bit more complex. Great shooting.

Hi Joe, great work all round. Loved that. Great images, but accompanied by strong cinematic storytelling.
Soundscape was terrific too. Where's that from if you don't mind me asking?

Really look forward to seeing your work over the coming years with your Scarlet.

I have a contax set. Were the CU's on yourself the Contax 50?

Jim, loved your RED one test too!

    Best

    Lliam

I asked this in another thread, but what are you doing in Redcine-X to not have noise? On my Scarlet at ISO 800 (or lower) with standard room lighting I'm getting a noisy image. I'm sure it's something I'm doing or not doing! Thanks.

Well there is noise, but i do say it is pretty filmic grain. I shot @ 400ISO and then brought the blacks down in RedCine (RedLogFilm gamma) which got rid of a lot of noise (i wanted it to be very dark)
I also ran it through Neat Video denoiser in Premiere. I find that plugin just fantastic, used the demo for like 30minutes and went and purchased it. I think it is better than the NUKE denoiser - at least as far as getting very natural looking results super quickly. Then re-grained it slightly.
Plus, the vimeo compression and bringing it down to 1080p from the 4K timeline obviously hides a lot of the noise that would be there

If i have time i'll try to post a before and after image
