I have access to some Bronica medium format still lenses and found an adaptor to cannon mount on ebay. I am just wondering if anyone has tried these lenses yet or will it even work?
Thanks

I don't know if anybody has tested them but if they are dumb lenses then they will work just fine but will not report focal length to the camera for meta data.
should work fine.
Hi Ryan, below is the link. Please let me know if I'm on the right track with this idea and if you pick one of the adaptors up let me know how if works for you.

Thanks for the link to site Bill. I searched a couple of forum and heard some negative things about the idea of using these lenses on digital cameras. They indicated that you would loose sharpness/resolution because of the crop factor and of course that the 1.5 crop factor to consider, I would have to find a 15 to 18MM lens to add to the set in order that i have a wide equivalent to 25mm.
Well, to a certain extent, the sharpness and resolution depends upon the particular lens. Honestly, I am not familiar with Bronica lenses. Some lenses could be spectacular, some less so. Generally speaking, medium format lenses can work well with an APS-C or even a larger sized sensor because the "sweetest" spot of the lens is used, namely the center, and that can minimize things like falloff and distortion. I have seen people use medium format lenses on Canon 7D's and 5DII's. Pentax 6x7 or 645 lenses are also a popular choice. The down-side is that the lenses are normally bigger, heavier and slower. If you have access to Bronica glass for little or no money, what have you got to lose other than the cost of the adapter?
Thanks guys for the links..! I am in that boat. Lots of glass only cost me the price of adapter to give them a try. Might just have to try them out. All this glass just collecting dust. The Bronica hasn't been used in years...be great to get some use and certainly not bigger than a PL Lens..?!
