Many things are technically do-able withing the red-world I would think, and I'm sure the minds@red have been here also. Depends on other products now in development probably. From my perspective the most important features are those that elevates tech to new dimensions. Like the form factor and resolution/frame rate of Epic. I'm intrigued by the idea of having a Thunderbolt/Light peak module directly on the back of the camera. This can do so many things. Having the camera "bus" extended with a fiber optical interface opens a world of ideas. Live transmission of 4k-raw, extended io-modules, remote control and "live-DIT".... One day there will be a market of live 4k and if red is there first they will surely own sony/canon/panasonic.

Yeah, a thunderbolt module off camera would be nice. Be worth checking out what imagination technologies is planning (they do the gpu core designs in PSP vista, iPhone etc, low powered).

I think anything that frees our footage from the red proprietary universe is a step in the right direction.

I wanted to reveal something about the solution, it involves transforming from one functional domain space to another to speed processing. The trick is to transform your function over to a domain space that best suites your processing environment. So once you do this you might find gpgpu wirks a lit better. It is not a matter of making the processing environmnent flexible, but your self, these sorts of processing environments don't tend to change at our will, but our code can.

I think I was posting about this gpu thing elsewhere as well and Grahame was there, and wanted to mention this, but I can't find it, so I'll post it here.

It's not what you see, it's how you think about it.
