ACES isn't done, but it was the most exciting concept I came over in 2011.

I see disadvantages to this kind of standardisation. But for general "safe" use, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages a lot.

The colorspace goal isn't film BTW.

    Anyhow:
It's where I put my cheers for a simpler post/signalhandling. (And a lot less work for me...)

That's my style of project, maybe we can normalise all those nasty looking camcorder TV shows to a style we want with a list of profiles and a click of a button when watching on TV one day. A directors choice can be a load of rubbish sometimes.

It is a tiny bit boring, so I thought I would bring up a much advantageous sensor scheme I have come up with in times past 5:5:5:5:5 (as we run out of pixels in the 4: scheme) and whatever equivalent single sensor pattern. What is it, infrared, red, green, blue, ultraviolet (well the I and UV are just all below and all above the visual range). While it maybe advantageous to the scientific, machine vision, and security (a much bigger market than cinema) it has advantage in the normal visual field. In single sensor pattern format it has more use as a special effects camera. I've suggested irgbu, irgbgu, igrgbgug, igrgbrgug as just some obviouse examples.

Not worked out, just speculative fun for you guys.

Well, I thought it might be a good joke considering what we were discussing before, though serious joke.

Hmm, if the foveon sensor is like this then it is definitely not 100% fill and will have considerable anti-alaising. You know, there is another three layer sensor' Russian, I was trying to get my hands on for a camera years ago. You probably can buy cameras using it for $30, but they won't even tell me which ones. Have a cut away duagram of the sensor.

It is a shame neither Sigma Foveon wants to go upgrade to video, or anybody else wants to increase quality. Hmm, just though of a seperation structure for higher number of color seperation layers to more closely resemble the response curves of human vision, yep another on how to map them, and another (inbetween thinking those two) to drastically reduce layer cross talk and energy loss. But then again, the sensor design I mention closest to my previous will do that anyway. Hmm, just thought up a way to home make a three layer sensor system.
