I am post supervising a short that is being shot on a mix of Epic and Red One. The plan is to shoot 4K on the Epic, no HDRx, and the same on the Red One. My question is, does the 4K footage from Epic log and transfer into FCP the same way the 4k footage from Red One / MX does?
My whole workflow is setup to bypass Redcine X. This is because in our testing, the rendering time was much faster in FCP to ProRes. Then we plan to use Automatic Duck to reconnect to the R3Ds in After Effects (where our Color Grading is being done). The project is for a timed film competition, so time is of the essence! Thus our decision to bypass Redcine X.
Can anyone confirm this, or maybe pass / link me to some Epic 4K footage for testing?
