I successfully adapted my Feature Film (shot on RED) from FCP 7 to FCP X via the new app. Relatively painless. Pretty amazing. Granted these are the Pro Res files..but still.

I'm checking but I can't find anything missing (maybe a couple transitions)? Keyframing and everything came over. There might be an issue with the "proxy" versions going off-line but other than that I'm not seeing anything. Need more detailed inspection but I'm shocked at the accuracy and amount of info that came over. I'll keep you posted.

Here is one bug I found translating from FCP 7 to FCP X -
    I had a DVCPRO 720 24p project that I took from FCP7 to FCP X
I had a 1080p background graphic at the head of the show.
It made all the 720p files 1080p size....
The files before the 1080p file were normal size. the ones after were 1080p size.
I went back to the FCP 7 project, removed the 1080p files and re-exported the XML file.
This time everything was back to normal in FCP X.....

Starting a project from scratch in FCP X was easy.
So far I will probably use FCP 7 and FCP X side by side.
There are still a lot of weird things about FCP X I don't like.

I had the same problem. Converted a 60min film and about 5 clips were sized incorrectly. I fixed it by resetting the metadata on those clips. Everything else worked great.

Thanks BigLu for the feedback. I will most certainly keep this updated. So far it looks like red markers have been placed to let me know exactly what didn't come over exactly (i.e. motion blur, etc.) Anyway, yes I am very optimistic and excited by the potential.
