My Redmote hasn't shipped yet - gonna cancel the purchase unless there's some clarification from official sources. 'Tis all a little bit roulette, it seems....

Yes I'd like to order a Bomb EVF but all the issues that is happening and with no official word from Red on a fix, it makes you question the 'Pro' in 'Red Pro'

I've been with Red since 2006 and I must say it's a hard to see major issues go uncommentated on.
I know they are on it as they always are bur with no official word it makes you start to doubt what's going on.

This is where I am. I was planning on ordering both the redmote and the EVF but after reading thread after thread of issues I'm hesitant to place the order. Until the problems are fixed I think I'll hold off.

Tested mine again today and did lose signal once while only about ten feet away, by covering the Redmote with my hand and turning my back to the camera. Wasn't trying to break connection but I did with normal movement. Everything else tested out as before as long as I was aware of how I was holding it in reference to the camera. A little more power would be nice, but for me it is useful as is. Someone suggested putting it around the neck with a lanyard. I think I will use it like that.
One camera is a shoot... two or more is a production.

No secret. I just paired the Redmote to my camera via touchscreen and then connected it by toggling to default. That's it.

How long has the Redmote been shipping? Some problems are to be expected in new products.

From the posts, there's certainly some wild variations in user experience with the Redmote, from not connecting at all, to connecting over great distances.

The issue really is how will RED deal with the normal problems that arise in bringing out new and complex products.

As a happy customer base is important for thriving, I feel that RED will take care of the issues, so I'll probably order a Redmote this month.

I just read this thread by Jim Jannard http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthr...60-Misc-Update, and it seems to me that RED is really going for the gold - and we just need to give them a bit of time to catch up with all the normal issues that arise.

This thread on REDcolor3 and REDgamma3 http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthr...-and-REDgamma3, which will add new functionality to a camera I haven't even received yet, also seems indicative of REDs intentions and future direction.

I first saw the Red Modular system back in 2008.
The system has been in the wild for some time, no?

We hear you Rory and everyone else experiencing difficulties. I want to see you guys experience the REDmote as the insanely advanced piece of equipment it should be.
If you are having any problems with the REDmotes please send us a trouble ticket so we can track this properly. Then let's factor out firmware upgrades, settings or something similar being the issue and if there is a problem we want to take care of it. The REDmote is an amazing tool like nothing I have ever seen attempted on a camera system. We'll get you dialed-in, just as we always have...

    Looking forward to it.... :)

In the mean time, we all put tickets into RED SUPPORT ?...Just to make sure this fix does not fall out of our warranty dates. (I'm worried about my EPIC M remote now)
If I have to send back all of my RED-MOTES for upgrading or replacement, to get them to the magic 100+ foot range mark . I'd like to send them all at once if possible.

    Please :)

Thanks Sean, Look forward to your reply.
