    Hi folks

I'm looking for dovetail that is compatible with Epic. Allstar dovetail fits for RED but not Epic. The current epic rig doesn't allows me to mount longer zoom lens, the balance point couldn't be meet. What 3rd party solution provide this ?

And secondly, how do u mount top mount handle while the mount is being used by the red touch lcd. Can't seems to find a place to mount the top mount handle.

    Any suggestions ?

    Thanks

    Hope these photos help

This plate lets you use the Red bottomplate, which has a dovetail.

And this is how I mount my handle with my Red Touch LCD

    I hope this helps

Best solution for the top handle is probably a top plate such as: http://www.red.com/store/rail-compon...dsmc-top-plate or http://x.com/easy-top-epic-x or http://www.viewfactor.net/products/e...top-plate.html.

I dont' have one yet and will probably use my WC side handle to mount the lcd to for now.

Which bottom plate do you have for EPIC? I have the DSMC QUICK RELEASE PLATFORM which does work with the Allstar dovetail even though the all-star locking system is not needed.

I'm not a big fan of the RED Dovetail for the Quickrelease because it is short and has no safety stops incase you forget to lock down the cam. I am a fan of the ET dovetails. Longer lengths and built great.

    Hi Rivai
If you already have RED bottom plate and Allstar RED dovetail (RD-N) you can get this kit to save your money:

If you need a new support system, you can consider Allstar Dual Bridge Plate, it can work with all most kinds of cameras and rods system, and has very well perform on hand-held:

With Allstar Top Mount , you can mount touch LCD on the handle(there are two 1/4" screw holes)
