This sounds like the coolest thing on Reduser right now and I am shocked people aren't fighting to get into these events! If I'm in town, I'll be there for sure. What a great opportunity for indie film makers to see some of their work on the big screen without having to pay a dime... very generous. I applaud you good sir :)
After taking a brief hiatus from the .R3D Open Screen Night, we're back!!!!
NEXT MONDAY 5/27/2012
Downtown Independent LA presents our monthly .R3D Open Screen night
7-9PM, bring your .R3D files and we'll project them on the big screen. This is not a competition or a chance to show off your latest finished project. We're only accepting .R3D files and playing them back on our 2K Barco Red Rocket system, probably with the new RED Player. Probably without sound.
PM Me or email jim -at- downtownindependent.com if you are interested in attending or have questions. Otherwise, just show up with your files and a good attitude :-)
Downtown Independent is located at: 251 S. Main Street Los Angeles California 90012
Friendly reminder, the .r3d Open Screen night is happening tonight the Downtown Independent LA at 7PM.
Bring your footage or just come and hang out. I'll show some footage of my cats and stuff I've recently shot with my epic. We just got new trailers, so expect to see some of the latest 2D and 3D shot-on-RED theatrical trailers like Gatsby, Prometheus, etc. FUN!
You big city folk have all the fun.:-( Can we do one of these in Santa Rosa (that would be the county I live in in Florida.:-))
I'm not sure I understand the "r3d only" part.
Does that mean that the footage should have originated as r3d ( to make sure it's a red camera ) ?
Most post work-flows tend to loose the r3d format during processing of color and other post operations, so for me I would prefer Cineform.
Can someone explain this a bit?
Sounds like a fun event !
