Really does turn the Red One into a different camera. No Red Drives hanging off of it makes a huge difference, and so far the SSDs have been reliable for me on R1 (knocks on wood). In my opinion, a huge advantage R1 has over Epic/Scarlet is the flexibility in media. For example, for those times when the camera will be planted on tripod, dolly shooting long takes I can throw a 320 or 640GB drive on there and they are so cheap to buy right now, can buy a few for parts if anything goes wrong. Then you have SSD which is really great because it gives you the right form factor, decent amount of record time, and solid state for reliability. And for that matter, you can always swap a CF module back on if you had a reason to do so. So 3 media formats to choose from.
For anyone without an SSD for their Red One, don't hesitate, buy one of these, especially at the discounted rate that Nick and others are selling them at. Well worth the investment.

Offers? How old are they? Were they rented? Are they 320 or 640?

Drives are 320s only rented on jobs where I knew the AC and DIT (I think one movie where I wasn't there). They work fine, all FW ports work. Not all beat up. I mainly just used them for interviews.
