It's way to easy to hit a button on the side handle and mess me up while shooting! My AC bumped it just going for the roll button 3 times on one shoot.. I just said take the damn thing off..

    This is REALLY NEEDED.

    PLEASE RED!

    Thank you.

I might be wrong, but I could swear you can go into the key map settings and choose "disable" for the setting on each individual button...

Why use it if I have to disable the buttons?

I believe he means an actual button that you press which locks the buttons from functioning until you press the lock button again to unlock and make changes. That way nothing can be altered once you have everything dialed in.

I like the idea. Have a keymap function where a button can be assigned as a "lock" key for a certain device [brain, side handle, LCD, EVF, bottom handle, SSD module or any combination thereof]. Rather than just making it a "push", the lock/unlock function should be pushing and holding the button for 1-2 seconds. That way an accidental bump won't lock and unlock the buttons constantly.

Exactly, just like the touchscreen.. I was just shooting a commercial where 99% of it was handheld, and the buttons are so easily pushed it was so bad we just took it off..

Brook, is there a way to clone you? We need a Brook Willard in FL!

A firmware update that adds a new "Toggle Side Handle Key Lock" action that may be mapped to any key. By default it will be mapped to a key combination that can't be easily accidentally pressed.
