  1. #1 FS: Super rare set of Kinoptik 35mm cinema lenses (18,28,35,50,75) with PL adapters!
I have never seen another Kinoptiks set in my life. I usually only see the 9.8mm or the 50mm, but never a full set! These lenses are something special...

    - They all have very close focus ability, 360 degree focus rotation, and clean glass. Geared focus rings can be added easily.
    - The 18mm has the old Cooke Panchro style focus mechanism (barrel spins), but I have a special ARRI standard to PL adapter for that lens (included). When ARRI was selling this adapter it cost $1,500! Its a thing of beauty really. It can be used as a quick adapter for all the lenses if you prefer. That is how I used them before I got the simple PL mounts for each lens.
    - These lenses are tiny and lightweight, but they also cover 4K and maybe even 4.5K, but I don't have a Red One to test 4.5K. The 18 and 28 have some vignetting at 5K.
    - There are no scratches, scuffs, chips, dings, fungus, haze, etc. Only some light dust specs inside, but nothing that affects the image.
    - All the rings move freely.
    - I am missing a couple of caps (18, 35), but a custom hard case is included in the sale.

    Lens info:
    18mm - f/1.8, T2
    28mm - f/2, T2.5
    35mm - f/2, T2.5
    50mm - f/2, T2.5
    75mm - f/2, T2.5

    I'm asking... now on ebay

Here is one image I have handy from a short film. Shot on Red One MX with these exact Kinoptik lenses. I'll dig around for more photos too. Thanks for the interest! Peace.

I'd be tempted to get these just to rehouse them... Imagine some old glass like this in a modern housing with focus and iris gears.
    Tempting.

Maybe I'll have a chat with the guys from True lens and see if its something they could do.

I'd love to see how these lenses look and behave, is there any chance you could shoot a bit of video and post it up? So we can see how they handle flares, how they breathe, how smoothly the iris moves etc...?

How many blades do the Iris's have?

if I lived your side of the pond I'd just come to you to test them but I'm in the UK.

Yeah Matt, that is what I was planning to do with them, but I have one too many projects on my plate at the moment, and I need Scarlet accessories! I'm out of town at the moment, but I will get back to you about the iris blades ASAP. They are definitely on the "cool" side for color rendition... sort of opposite of old Cooke Panchros. I'll do my best to get you some sample footage, but it may be a few weeks. I used these lenses on an AF-100 for a Discovery show called Secret Service Secrets recently. Here are some jpegs of those interviews. These were shot wide open or very very close to it. You can see they are tack sharp and of course they only get sharper as you stop down. Probably the most interesting set of lenses I have ever owned... sad to have to sell them, but they must go!
