Sensor cover? Does scarlet come with one?

Hi People,

Just stripping my scarlet-x down to sell just the brain. I can't find a sensor cover in my kit. Did scarlet AL Packages come with one? I see epic's have them, but they are not pictured in any scarlet brain on red.com. Can anyone confirm for me? In my package there is a cover for the SSD.

Oddly, from what I understand, you only get one when you buy the brain only. It seems odd that you get the other covers but not that cover. I don't have my camera yet but this is what I gather from unboxing videos and photos.

I suppose that Red assumes that when you're transporting the Scarlet you will want to have a mount on it anyway. The only thing that this hurts really is if you later decide that you want to upgrade to an epic by buying the brain only and wish to sell your Scarlet's brain to finance it while keeping your mount(s).

If you would buy the Epic brain only - it would come with the lens mount cover, which you could then put on the Scarlet to sell it off. If you however wanted to sell the Scarlet first - then I would recommend just to contact your bomb rep at RED and they will for sure sort you out...

Quite right, I am sure. I just wanted to mention the only circumstance where I can see this ever possibly being an issue.

The problem is red's fault! They are getting so good at making cameras! I expected if I ordered a stage 4 epic before the price hike a few days before Jan 1, I'd get it around summer. I got that wrong!! It came up last week. I had planned to keep scarlet and use both, but being ready, caught me off guard. For about a week, I thought that I'd cancel the epic, but after thinking about it, I would gain more selling the scarlet brain and keeping the epic... so sadly it's scarlet who goes. I never thought I'd be doing this so soon. I feel like Josep H... although... he is UAE living it up, so it can be all that bad.

The new owners will have to do without till their lens mount comes in.

they should put that in the store or make it available to owners, i might like to have one for decoration if nothing else. contact your rep and see if you can't acquire one.
