This is not a complaint, but instead a request for RED. Please start selling the DSMC Front Body Cap by itself! (It currently only ships with the purchase of an EPIC-M/X Brain Only.)

I sold the Ti Canon Mount that came with my Scarlet and will be ordering a Ti PL Mount in the next few days as I will be buying a 25mm RPP soon. However, in the meantime, my Scarlet's sensor is exposed (which I personally am freaking out about...). So, I've had to place the brain inside an airtight plastic bag to ensure that no dust can enter and come into contact with the sensor. The DSMC Front Body Cap is such a small, useful and necessary item that it would be great if you could start selling it by itself in the store.

I'm still trying to find an alternative solution to cover the sensor as keeping the camera in a plastic bag is not such an elegant solution. Any suggestions? :-)

    Brian,

the body cap is just a thin piece of plastic (it looks aluminum in the pics). Maybe the storefront at Red Studios may be able to hook you up?

Yes, it's just a small piece that fits on the front of the camera over the sensor. I will try contacting the store at RED Studios, but my Bomb Squad rep said that it's only available if one orders an EPIC (which I find to be highly unfortunate).

Also, I've attached an image of the Front Cap just so everyone understands what I'm referring to. By the way, I would have posted this thread in the "Requests" section of the forum, but, that section doesn't yet exist. So I posted it here under "COMPLAINT DEPARTMENT" as I noticed that many other users use this section to submit requests.

Similarly, I sold my Ti PL mount before getting another mount. I've covered mine in Plastic wrap and taped it to seal it and then covered it with a plastic bag. Also placed some dessicant drying bags inside the plastic bag and check it daily to ensure there's no moisture buildup.
One camera is a shoot... two or more is a production.

Oh, goodness... Now I'm freaking out about moisture buildup. Thank you for bringing that up as I hadn't thought about that. :-)

I will see if we have enough units of the cap to sell stand-alone.

Save some dollars and use a wide stripe of gaffer tape and a square of paper...paper where the mount goes and tape on top.
