EWQL or VSL -- any previous experience?

    Any thoughts?

VSL, but not the original version. Use the Vienna Instruments. I have all of them. Using them every day.

I have EWQL Gold Pro but confess I've not recorded a real project with it yet, just fooled around and experimented. However I bought it because I thought the variety and number of articulations and overall sample quality was the best I heard in full performance demos. Can't go wrong with it from a quality perspective IMO.

both... The real question is what you want to do with them. ESQL sounds great but is recorded to sound like an orchestra in a hall...which works great for orchestral scoring. If youre looking to add string parts with a little more control over sound VSL is cool. Check both out with a end result in mind and ear for overall sound quality (by which I mean tone color reverb etc. ) neither is the be all end all... Both are very good

I agree with Hoffman. I have EWQL Platinum Pro and Chamber Strings and Woodwinds from VSL. I love the big sound of the QL stuff, but when I need more intimate sections, I'm all over the legato instruments in VSL. They sound great together.

I just feel cool 'cause I knew what the achronyms meant. :)

Here's a confession... I was scoring something and was needing some expressive violin sound and was using the VSL violin and then heard this other one which I thought was much more human and I used that for all the key moments instead. I thought it was from another fancy library. Then realixed... I got it with Logic upgrade... it's from the garage band libary. Oh well, whatever works!
