    Lightworks can be downloaded for free. Why not just download it and try it yourself rather than ask for opinions from others who might be doing very different types of work than you do?

    The free version doesn't support R3D files.
    I'm eager to see how it performs too. The 64bit version which had been delayed unfortunately.
