I guess right now I'm torn between the NF4 TRUSMT and the LANPARTE (like the knob with the rubber coating) and as everyone is really pleased with these,
it seems that it doesn't make much difference in terms of quality.

You are hiting me when you talk about redrock follow focus...hahah I hate it. Bad experience. Bad not, worst experience. The backlash is the worst I tried, the technical service did not work fine....redrock is not a option anymore.

My doubt now is FF4 or Lanparte....mmmm
    what do you think?

I had similar feelings regarding the Redrock Micro Follow Focus V2, but the Follow Focus|blue is a different design all together and seems built to last. Backlash adjustment right there on the gear box. Just used it on a shoot for consecutive days of 12, 16, 12, 10, and 11 hours. Many lens changes and a few of those days were very dusty.

It's priced a bit higher than your target price point, but I don't think there's a better value for the money on the market. I have used the Trusmt and Lanparte follow focus units. I don't feel they hold up for regular use, but they do fit your price point. Just know you'll be buying another within a year.

    Hi Phill thank you!!

I promise to myself don't trust anymore in redrock follow focus. I know it, it's bad to said this, but i lost money with them....

I would like to buy one cheap follow focus right now because I would not be able to buy OConnor FF right now, so it's something temporary....1 year aprox.
I thin i am gonna buy lanparte...it seems better...

    thanks!!

Thanks Phil for the insight. I guess all choices are just a temporary solution before having enough dough to spend it on the OConnor ... ;)

Well I'll play devil's advocate against myself. I'm a regular to heavy shooter. Meaning I shoot pretty much several days out of every week out of the year and I need gear that will hold up to that. I also prefer primes, so the release action and movement on the follow focus is important to me.

If I was a lighter shooter and took care of my gear, I would say you can make any one of the other FF units mentioned last longer.

Yes, directly from coollcd in China. One of the great plus is the possibility to attach the gear wheel on the right or left side.

Hehe. Thank you Phil. That sounds very reasonable. now off to decide on the FF and then the matte box. Oh man, renting is so damn easy ;)
