I'm finding my TVlogic 5.6" monitor takes about 25seconds to recognize the HDMI signal from my Scarlet, that means I don't get an image until about 37seconds after power on or 25seconds after monitor battery changes or hdmi cable re-plugs. Anyone else finding this? Is this the case with other monitors as well? I'll try to test with other monitors, but I've never seen this using HDMI from any other camera on my tvlogic and I've used a few. It takes about the same 25seconds with scarlet set to any hdmi output mode and I've tried them all. As I am only using HDMI for monitoring, this triples my effective boot times unnecessarily. Anyone have similar experiences or any suggestions or solutions?

I have the same issue, but what i do to pull it up quicker is make sure that your output is at 720p from the scarlet, and then if it doesn't come up right away, go into your dslr presets in the TV Logic and switch to Sony A77. It seems to click nicely.

My TVlogic doesn't have those presets, I assume because it is an older firmware since I bought it 11months ago. Still no luck, I've tried everything I can think of, but it still always takes an ~25sec to recognize the display. Of course my $150 HDMI monitor displays the signal in about 1-2seconds... I've contacted TVlogic support about the issue, hopefully they can resolve it for me.

Definitely a monitor issue, rather than a camera issue.

Yeah thats what I figure, though the TVlogic monitor picks up HDMI signals from many other 1080p sources as quickly as it should so perhaps it is an incompatibility connected with TVlogic not properly supporting modes it should but Scarlet using modes that are in less common among HDMI output devices?

So TVLogic Support told me to get my firmware updated, and I just got the monitor back from sending it in for a firmware update and it still does the same thing. If the monitor is connected to Scarlet through HDMI, any interruption in connection will takes the monitor 20 seconds for the monitor to display the signal again.

I tried the 720p output with Sony A77 preset suggestion and it did not appear to have any effect... Am I doing something wrong? Seems like those presets only change the DSLR Scale modes which wouldn't help detect the signal type. I assume it is the monitor taking a long time to detect the somewhat more uncommon progressive-only signal type from the Scarlet's HDMI...

Maybe a stupid question but are you using a really long HDMI run? I have the same monitor and I only have that problem if I'm looping through my SmallHD DP4 to the TVLogic. I don't have the problem at all when I plug straight in to the TVLogic via HDMI either on 720p output or 1080p output... But if I'm not using the DP4 I run the TVLogic off HD-SDI... is there any reason you're not running it off HD-SDI? On the TVLogic you def get a better picture via HD-SDI.

Really? you have no problems with HDMI between Scarlet and TVlogic?? I'm using about as short an HDMI cable as they make, I think its 1.5ft, and I've tried two different short cables and a long cable. I am using HDMI because I have a wicast I use to transmit wireless HDMI and a splitter I use to connect that and the TVlogic and then I can still have SDI out from the TVlogic. This is my prefered method. I can use SDI if I give up the wireless HDMI but that is a big if. I would really prefer to be able to run my wireless HD director/focuspuller monitor. What seems crazy is when I start up the Scarlet or unplug and replug the HDMI, the wireless monitor comes up more than twice as fast as the TVlogic, and it has to search and establish its wireless connection which takes a few seconds.

What settings are you using on the TVlogic? anything special you can share to make it work?

    Sorry, A bit off topic...

I'm very interested in your wireless Wicast system.
Could you elaborate how you power it? What do you get as delay? Do you have any picture of your system (camera and director LCD) ?

    Thanks a lot.

The wicast system I got on sale for $99 at microcenter which seems like a steal for wireless uncompressed HDMI. I power both the Tx and Rx units from batteries using Car cigarette plug to 5V 2A USB adapters I got on ebay and took apart and soldered 2.1mm DC plugs onto. Seems to work well. There is no noticeable delay on the wireless HDMI monitor which is basically big 12v ebay battery velcroed to the Rx unit velcroed to an older $150 7" HDMI monitor I used to use before I got my TVlogic. The range isnt bad as long as there arent a lot of walls to go through, but for the price it is amazing and the flexibility is so great. I generally find the signal quite stable within 30ft, but beyond that it depends a lot on walls and environment. The battery on the monitor lasts all day, and all the parts on the camera side are powered through my V-mount plate that has various voltage regulators (5V,7.2V,12V). Unfortunately the 5V regulated output is only 1A so it isn't enough to power the splitter (~2W) and Tx (~7W), so I still have to use those modified CAR-USB adapters.

I'll try to post pictures when I get a chance.
