This thread is ridiculous. Items are priced as to what the market will bear.

Can't afford it? Get over it.

Supply and demand. This is not a community, this is RED-USER. A place people come to get their fix...not to listen to crybabies.

Brett, I disagree. It is a community. It all depends on the attitude of each individual to decide how they see it, or interact with it. But yes, it is all about supply and demand.

It can't be compared to the price of the backordered item because you are being offered it "now". You are paying to get it "now". So if someone is asking for an unrealistic price - don't pay it. If you really need it and can't get it anywhere else - then that is what the item is worth.
    Exactly.

If something is so severely overpriced then the seller won't sell it.

    Seems pretty simple to me.

I don't think Oakley sunglasses would agree so much with your community spirit.. The market will decide what its worth no one else. Its not about ripping off its about a free market and paying what its worth to you! No one is putting a gun to your head and forcing you to buy it! You have a choice just choose if that price is right for you. If its not them move along no need for a song and dance about it.

supply and demand! & if the "back order" demands it, the greedy supplier will profit from it. It does go towards character in the end though and I think there is more to life than buying something for a dollar and selling it for two. Like helping a fellow man instead of kicking him when down.

I want a side handle badly as mine is back ordered still! BUT I refuse to pay more than what the seller got it for and saw a few go by but I held my ground.

I'll say be patient, back order is almost over, rent or borrow what you don't have... perhaps in the spirit of the "community" we should start an accessories fair rental initiative, locally.

Sorry, but I don't equate having to wait for a side handle to being "down", but that's just me. You can buy and sell to be a pal, or you can do it like a business, but those are two distinctly different activities. It's up to each person to decide when to do which, and I see no reason to get personal about business.

The OP was eager, the seller saw him coming and tried to cash in. The guy just seems pissed off now that he screwed the deal. I feel for him. He isn't naming names, so he still seems like a decent guy... But this is his own fault. It may make you feel better to talk the guy down while you wait for your own side handle, but this isn't really the place. IMO

One word of caution: the "rental initiative" stinks of price fixing, and that's illegal. Be very careful.

Those are rental prices for packages already publicly listed on the internet. Nothing wrong with sharing that at all. Not sure if this* was added as a response to your comment, but I think the list is great.

*This rate sheet is for reference only. Add gear/prices as you see fit, but ensure prices accurately reflect fair Rental House pricing.
