Not sure if this thread should be here or somewhere else....moderators please feel free to move.

Anyway Samyang have announced they are releasing a 8mm Fisheye "Cine Lens" . I'm not sure what that means ie. PL mount or various still mounts. No mention of price, not the fasted of lenses but does come with focus gears . Could be of interest & compliment the Tokina 11- 16. I have few of there lenses they're sharp & well made.

    Stocks available March 18 apparently.

Apparently this lens is listed here for presale....thanx Ric!

Also there was another thread about this lens. Will post an update to the thread when it can be found.

basically it's the "old" 8mm declicked and geared. will be available as canon, nikon, sony mount and others. at foto walser 349€ for any mount version. PL hasn't been mentioned yet as far as I know.
Foto-Walser Germany Walimex 8mm cine version

matt duclos compared the 35mm samyang to a zeiss and got real positive results.

I have the 8mm fisheye (non cine) and it's outrageously wide.

    Fun lens.

Can I ask you how it performs? How much does it vignette at 5k?

    Thanks!

Creeps in at 5K, covers 4K with no issue.

I wouldn't bother at 5K, to be honest...unless you're shooting like a skate video or something. But I was really surprised at the FOV of it. Well worth the 280 bucks.

    Hello,
Yesterday I received the Samyang/Walimex 8 mm Lens video-version. I 've made a little "first look" video. If it interests one or the other.

Thanks Oliver for the upload. This lens for the bucks looks pretty good, hard to beat for value & with lens gears, even better.
