We were looking for an affordable shade for the 5.0 screen on the Scarlet. We ordered the shade from Filmtools that was meant for the 5.6" screen that came out with the RED ONE and it fits great, actually. Haven't seen anyone mention this on the forum [and did a quick search], so I thought I'd post some quick pics of how it fits. It's pretty nice and snug on there and doesn't cover the side buttons. You definitely have to use a stylus with it, but it can be done. Our side handle should get here soon. Anyway, here are the pics for anyone interested.

I have the same hood for my Scarlet and find it easy to use and sturdy. Also found it acts as a nice pad between the brain and LCD when it's folded down in my bag.

Yeah it's great. Though my hands are a little big for reaching in easily and have started using the side handle more also.
    They work fantastic in combo.

Otherwise if i was to buy again, I'd consider getting the other hoodman with no bottom section.
Or I can just get my stanley knife out...

Oh yeah, btw, from memory I'm pretty sure Film Tools had a higher list price than B&H where i got mine...
(Too lazy to go check again now)

I got one from B&H for about $40 for my 5.6" non-touch-screen. I'm also too lazy to verify the price. Just type in Hoodman and you'll find it easily.

So far, I like it. I *just* got my Scarlet a few days ago, so I haven't actually tried the Hoodman out for more than just a little testing in my backyard. But I like it so far.

I have a hoodman for red 5.6 waiting to be fetched from the store. Was nice to se a close up of how it will look. Im a bit worried I get light leaking in from behind. Is it wider the the screen? Cant really se any light leek in the pictures.

Um how do you use the touch screen with that puppy on?

There is a hood that only covers the top and sides so you can use the touch screen without a problem. That is what I use.

@jeff Good idea there. I had a similar thought but your idea is better.

I was unable to find it on B&H because I normally order everything from there. It was about $60 total after shipping but I WAS trying to get it here before a shoot [of course it came the day after].

I looked at the hood you have Brandon and decided against it because I didn't want to have to put any adhesive on the screen's surroundings. Is that what you had to do?

I have small hands and using the stylus with the 5.6 hood is doable but took a readjustment. The hood almost fits perfectly on the width and I don't see a lot of bleed-through. I think it's good there, but you could always pad the edges maybe with some gaff tap that makes a lip.

Well, the adhesive is on the back of the Velcro pieces you have to put on the top and sides. Works perfect for me.
