could it be that someone has figured out how to clone the toshiba SSD's firmware ID and make their own RED mags for cheap ?
something just seems a little off. 'no need to ask if more units are available, they are' ! The drives in there cost about $600.
Can someone verify these came from Red ?
Perhaps a purchaser can look REAL close at two to compare exact mold marks on the plastic.
Sorry if I'm off base, but I'm sure I'm not alone in my thoughts.

Either way, the facts for you once more:

100% original brand new REDMAGs (bought from RED!)
A copy of the original invoice is available, has been posted and linked to online, and is provided upon a simple request.
The situation regarding # of units available has been explained. 80 were bought for a planned production that has been postponed.
Over 30 units sold to REDUSERS.
Perfect feedback record from tons of REDUSERS.
They're not made of plastic. They're high precision machined metal.

If these were aftermarket third party drives, we'd do it legally. They'd be branded differently (not RED), selling for far less, and they'd be all over the internet, on Amazon, eBay, and we'd make our own website and crank these at high volume. It would be a high profit business! But we're not making anything! We're just selling unneeded excess REDMAGs at cost, with free shipping insurance to boot!

If we were knocking off the RED brand, it would be IP infringement (design and TM) and they'd be threatening legal action. Plus they wouldn't allow us to sell these on REDUSER for months! Think about it!!!!

Please exercise common sense and courtesy. We've worked too hard to serve and earn the respect of the REDUSER community to have senseless doubts posted.

If it means anything, a paranoid friend came over "sure" they were copies or something - and he suggested we weigh them on my wife's scale she has for Steadicam payloads. Scale is precise to within 1/10th of a gram They weight EXACTLY the same thing as Redmags I got directly from Red.com
