I shot some stuff on the Tramway in Albuquerque last night and then on a hot air balloon flight this morning. It will be used at the top of the show and maybe for billboards or bumpers. It will air on TNT, likely during the first game today at 6:10pm ET.

The broadcast trucks can't take 1080p footage so unfortunately I had to output 720p over HD-SDI. Did real quick grades in-camera while feeding.

Yeah, no way to output last week, we had no edit suites, so I just took each shot one by one and adjusted to make it look nice and fed it into our EVS servers. Not ideal but it worked. RG3 sure makes things easier. Everyone was very impressed with the footage, especially the director of the show and some of our engineers and video technicians. I'm trying to get RED more into a supporting role for our LIVE sports shows for scenic, billboard, bumper "ENG" shots. Hopefully I'll have more this week at the NCAA Regional in Phoenix then in a few weeks at The Masters on CBS. Now if RED would just help me out by providing a 1080i HDSDI signal so I can output footage in 1080 instead of 720. Oh, and embedded audio on playback would be nice too.

Good to hear. I always think about people doing features/shorts, anything that you can go back in post and spend the time but you are in broadcast and you need to get the footage out quick. It's probably rough but with a little ingenuity you are making it happen and that's good to hear. Post the results when you get a chance.
