Sorry guys this is a bit bone-headed, but I have actually looked EVERYwhere and getting no joy.
As photo shows, I have an accessory RED Epic base-plate (maker unknown, bought used) that I am trying to add a Sachtler release plate to the bottom of. So as you can see, the mount screws are w-a-a-a-y too short to go thru BOTH plates and into the Scarlet Chassis.

    The Q:
Does anyone know where longer versions of these screws can be found?? Would seem an obvious problem with equally obv solution, but: Google/ebay/various RED accessory makers...
    no joy.

Hardware store option is a challenge because the head has to be both flat and VERY thin in height to fit in shallow cut out in Sachtler plate.

    Thanks in advance-

Most photography stores will sell them. At least here in CA among the biggies like Filmtools, Samy's, etc... Not sure if screws come that long though.

Standard tie down screws like this are pretty easy to find around town. Specialty long ones are harder.

Generally any captive screws need to be made custom... there don't seem to be many standard sizes out there.

Your bottom plate appears to be the original Element Technica spacer.

Element Technica sell the longer tie down screws for this reason.

Hi Amber - checked your link but that doesn't seem to address MY screw issue - unless I am not seeing it right? No tripod-mount extension screws shown.

    thanks tho

Done :) and they have replied. The offer ONE longer-sized screw (3/8 @ $12!) which we are trying to confirm will be long enough. Kinda surprised this is so complicated?! How is everyone mounting tripod plates to there bottom plates?

    Appreciate the help folks!

Stu, I'm not sure by your picture that you are thinking about it the right way. You need to attach the base plate to the camera (where you have your quick release) first, then attach your quick release plate to the bottom of your base plate, with 2 separate mounting bolts. Essentially, you don't have to go through both plates with one mounting bolt. That way works for me any way, I have same set up.
