Our first meeting is April 5th at 6PM (meetings will be on the 1st Thursday evening of every month at different members facilities or a public location) with like minded owners of this wonderful companies camera technology.

Our focus is; openly sharing information, resources, and creating a caring supportive local community in a "pay it forward" sort of way.

Our first meeting will be to introduce ourselves and discuss our groups guidelines:


> To help spread information and knowledge,
> To serve as a catalyst and forum for improving members operational skills
> To provide resources and connections for increased capabilities (please, feel free to rent or borrow my crane or sky jib ;) LOL)
> To be a resource of support for each other in case of last minute equipment failures
> To be a resource of support for each other on projects (paid and low / non budget personal projects).
> To communicate and share information about good / standard industry practices (heads up on bad clients about town, discussions on rates etc).
> To share and teach each other about technical issues that might normally be beyond our capabilities. (perhaps someone with experience might help the less so with a backfocus or bushing retrofit, a sensor cleaning, a lens cinema retrofit etc. or have a demonstration to educate everyone).

Ideas for additional guidelines are welcome.

Hey ya'll,

Our next Chicago local RED User meet up is tomorrow and I have to say I've been blown away by the energy and support of our brand new little groups first meeting last month.

While the web based community here is invaluable and greatly appreciated, there's something wonderful about meeting in person and making new like minded friends who are close and share the same dream / challenges / journey.

So I guess I'm saying to all you Chicago RED owners - jump on in...the water is just fine! We'd love to see at least a couple new faces tomorrow!

Our Chicago Users Group continue to grow, slowly but steadily and are on a field trip for the premiere of Prometheus next month.

What a humbling group of brave, passionate, intelligent creatives...feel free to join us.
