I was just about to start a thread similar to this today!

I hope the new firmware is not that far away. I am having EPIC/REDMX shots where monitoring both cameras at the same time has everyone scratching their heads.

We need RC3/RG3 for our REDS!

We're looking in to this. It's not as easy as it sounds, unfortunately. We'll keep everybody updated!

Sure hope you can squeeze this in - it would be quite a treat to be able to show "on set" an approximation of what we will get in post...

Yes, that would be very nice to have. Though, it's incredibly awesome that a camera I bought a few years ago and even footage from a few years back can take advantage of RC3 RG3 through Redcine-X Pro...free of Charge.

I think I understand the difficulties RED is having implementing this. The circuitry involved in the two cameras is different, despite having the same sensor inside, so I'm sure this presents some challenges to the engineers. Some experimentation of shooting with R1 and then processing in RC3/RG3 until you are confident in the results is probably the best strategy right now. RED has pulled off other miracles before, so don't want to say never...

And once you've figured that all out, try to find a way to put the Dragon sensor into our RED Ones!
