I love my switch from FCP7 to PPro but I am missing a few things...

I may be missing something but I really want the following:

1 - Support for offline editing and being able to "Reconnect" media as in FCP7.
2 - I want to be able to export an XML or EDL of a specific sequence NOT the entire project.
3 - Round-tripping with Davinci Resolve would be amazing.

Scott - Right click on either the audio or video the pop-up will give an option to unlink.

    You can roundtrip to Resolve.

Just export a FCP7 XML and bring it into Resolve. And export from Resolve with the FCP roundtrip options, but open the XML in Premiere instead.

Is there going to be a ADOBE PREMIER GURU RED EXPERT at NAB... Using a MAC laptop as well as a tower...
I want to see if a hotel room laptop work flow is possible using Premier.. without being smashed by the RENDER line.

    Im very interested....

Also a visit to BLACK MAGIC to see there new thunderbolt boxes working... through multiple screens and devices.

    My two NAB priorities..

When I export an EDL all it does is the sequence. Do you have the timeline frame selected when you do export the edl?

Not sure what you mean with number 2. You can reconnect media of sorts by "replace footage" right click the clip in the bin and select "replace footage."

Steve took care of the resolve roundtrip.

Are you saying you can make all the color changes in Resolve using R3Ds, and then export that out as XML and keep using the original R3Ds?

BTW - is that with 4K? I understand that Resolve, even in the free version, can read 4K R3D, but will out output the XML for 4K R3Ds.

    RECONNECTING MEDIA:

.....i don't believe with PPro it is as EASY as FCP...unless they did some sort of an update recently. But i LOVE how FCP does relinking with very little effort and PPro is a hassle to relink media that is on different drives or drives with different names (than the original project)---Basically it does not find media as easily as FCP.....that's my biggest gripe at moment.

And do we finally have better options for 10bit viewing OUT of premier via an I/O box like Matrox or Blackmagic ?? editing in 8bit is old hat. PLEASE give us 10bit monitoring via I/O Boxes....

    Relinking is pretty easy
Right click on the bin....not the file......point it to one file and it automatically relinks the rest....if you right click on the file.....then you have to do each one seperately.....not sure how much easier it can get.......
You just have to remember to relink on the bin not the file.....of course this is per renamed drive....so if you managed to rename 5 drives you would have to do this 5 times

As far as 10 bit output......matrox aja and black magic have all had 10 bit out cards and boxes for quite some time.....like years .....I could name the models but it would be probably close to a dozen.....not to mention 10 bit quadro output for a few years as well....

Have you guys actually used premiere?
