If it worked on the pre-3.0.0 then maybe you should downgrade to 2.0.5 (you can still get it from red.com)
Then you could do your shoot and RMA the camera afterwards and let Red know what the problem is

No problems with any of this on my side. I don't like having to do a black calibration, or that it takes so long... and I really dislike how clunky it is to work with audio, but in the end everything is working just as promised. I hope you get things figured out!

Please keep us updated on what happens - I have been running the factory firmware since receiving my scarlet because it hasn't given me any issues and hearing about bugs has held me off.
When posting it's nice to find out when the issue gets resolved and how!

What you are seeing here is sensor pattern noise, and it's no reason to be afraid of your Scarlet. A black shade should take care of this issue. What error are you getting on black shading?

Yes you can,
form the Red download site:

"You will not be able to roll back to firmware revisions earlier than v2.0.2 after installing v3.0.0."

But the version available is 2.0.5

You mentioned that it still has noise even at 250 ISO. Just FYI, shooting at 250 ISO will actually introduce more noise into you image than shooting at 800 ISO. The effect can be reduced by how your setting exposure, but shooting on RED isn't like shooting on a DSLR-shooting at a lower ISO doesn't produce a cleaner image. Both the Epic and Scarlet shoot their cleanest image at 800 ISO because it's the native sensitivity of the sensor.

So, something you might want to try is changing your ISO to 800 and using ND filters to get your exposure back down to proper levels. This won't fix everything and black shading it still necessary, but it might help a little.

Are you using Canon ois on your lens? Panning is known to create a jittering effect if your image stabilization is on with the camera on a tripod.
