did anyone try 16mm zoom lenses and red

Do anyone here have experiense with 16mm zoom lens and red?
I know it wont cover the 4k resolution and that the DOF is different than a 35mm format. I guess we will use the red camera for a lot of projects that dont require the 4k resolution. The DOF of 16mm is not bad. So... why not buying a 16mm zoom lens for the red?
Is there anyone here that actually tried it?

There has been much discussion on whether 16mm zooms will cover 2k on red. I think what has come of it all is they may/ they may not. You may have to check them on a case by case basis. Super16 lenses will cover, but are a lot more money.

I'm in need of a Bayonet to PL mount in order to run the test, if there is anyone in the London (UK) area I will test a Cooke 9-50mm next week if they can get one to me. At some point if all is well with the lens I will be purchasing a Les Bosher adaptor myself but with stuff being so busy at the moment I don't have much of a need to buy it just now.

i tried the canon 8-64 , zeiss hi speed primes and a friend with a set of 16mm illumina's shot some test ... now before i received Red 103 i was considering buying some S16 lens to shoot 2k ...

now after having the camera for ? ( since dec 31)

it's a 4k camera ... that is what it does best ... remember the RED saying -
"4k to anything" - they know what they are talking about ... and i am now a believer in 4k to anything ...

i'm not thrilled with 2k - perhaps that is because i'm use to looking at the 4k files ? ...
i shoot 4k ... i will not be buying S16 glass ....

If you are shooting for broadcast, and want deeper depth of field....2K may be better for you than 4K. You will have faster FPS, more storage, and less stress on edit machines.... Win/win if you are finishing 1080P.
