Just fired up the Scarlet (#2055) for the first time tonight and I got some crazy artifacts on the touch LCD and it's barely legible. I tried to attach the pic (hopefully it shows). Any suggestions? Here's what I've tried.

    1. Attach touch LCD monitor to camera
    2. Connect touch LCD to camera via included cables
    2. Connect AC adapter to camera
    3. Power on Camera
    4. Weird artifacting

    1. Shut down camera
    2. Remove camera power source
    3. Reconnect LCD
    4. Reconnect camera power source
    5. Turn on camera
    6. Weird artifacting

There was no SSD in the SSD slot.

I didn't try re-installing the firmware and don't have extra hardware to troubleshoot. I just happened straight out of the box. I call support first tomorrow and see if that's what they recommend. Might be hard to update firmware as it's pretty difficult to read the menus on the screen. I'm in no rush right now so as long as it eventually gets resolved, I'll still be the happiest camper!

Luckily, you don't need to read the menus to upgrade or downgrade the firmware. Just copy the 'force upgrade' folder onto an SSD and follow the accompanying instructions. If that solves your problem, you'll be in business in a few minutes.

Do a black calibration after the force upgrade, it takes 20+ minutes!

Unfortunately, the camera won't recognize any of my 2 64GB SSD media cards. Also, I noticed that there is 6.0 hours of operation on the camera out of the box, is this normal? I'm emailed my BS rep for recommendations on what to do next. I guess I'll just admire my $10k paperweight for the time being.

I tried the force upgrade and followed the instructions and nothing happened. I'm guessing this is because the camera didn't recognize the media card as stated above.

    I would:

    1. format the card on the computer and then add the force upgrade firmware folder to the card and boot up with the card inserted.
Make sure side handle red mote and monitor is disconnected when you fire it up for the reinstall and have the AC power supply attached.
    2. then you black shade.
    2. Then if that does not give you any luck I would go to the closest rental place and ask for a favor, test the camera with their screen cable.
    3. Test with their touch screen.
    4. Test your screen on their camera.

Now if you done those steps then you know if your monitor or camera is faulty.

    hope that helps...

Figured it out. All it needed was a "Restore System" and now everything seems to be fine. Thanks for all the troubleshooting tips! This community rocks!
