There're a lot of rumors about GTX680 low performance in GPU computing. Worse than GTX580...
I'd like to know the truth. If someone alredy has gtx680 please do some tests in davinci resolve or Adobe softwares. Thanks

Unfortunately, GTX 680 is out of stock worldwide and supply is very limited at this moment.
Speculation - GTX 680 4 GB could be faster than GTX 580 3 GB in Resolve. GTX 680 loses out to GTX 580 massively in 64-bit floating point double-precision operations, but then GTX 580 loses out to Quadro 6000 as well. However, as we know, GTX 580 is much faster than Quadro 6000, so Resolve would appear to primarily execute 32-bit floating point single-precision operations. For single precision, GTX 680 is 95% faster than GTX 580 - a massive leap by all means. Of course, there's much more to it, so let's wait for benchmarks / BMD's updated guide. For now, GTX 580 3 GB is dropping in prices and is a safe bet.
Thanks for the info! I found a few gtx680 in stock in our country so i'm thinking about buy one. I have Quadro 6000 in different workstation but i think its unnecessarily expensive for davinci resolve.
If possible, I would wait for the GTX 690. Especially if you're short on PCI-e slots. If I understand correctly, it's basically 2 x 680, and seen as one card by the OS.
Yes that is in theory what a 690 is. However I have heard that the change in architecture to the 6xx series of cards has made it more gaming based and it's performance in GPU computing has dropped and is actually lower than the 5xx series of cards. Also to do 4K work it is wise to have well over 2GB of memory per GPU core and a dual GPU board would have to share its memory.
I would love to put a 680 or 690 in but until I see some hard numbers in Resolve comparing the 6xx series to the 5xx series I'm super hesitant.
