I don't full understand the histogram with Redlog. I understand what redlog is doing and also that it won't give the same look as log-c etc.
We can adjust the exposure iso etc to make sure no highlights are clipped. The histogram roughly shows say the bottom 30% carries no information, and the whites are just below clipping. I'm not sure whether it's significant that there is nothing in the bottom 30% other than the pictures are obviously very milky. Ajusting the exposure/iso doesn't really change this much it just changes where the highlight levels are.
We can change this by adjusting contrast though.
So why is it like this and does it matter, I would have thought 30% was quite high but if we adjust the contrast to move the blacks lower aren't we undoing what the redlog is doing?
What is the desirable look for the histogram in general when using Red log?
I realise it doesn't actually matter what the pictures look like particularly as the REDLOG is an intermediate step so isn't supposed in anyway to look good.
